Hawthorne Parent Council organizes a volunteer-run Pizza Lunch, taking place weekly on Fridays throughout the school year (offered on Thursdays when there is a Friday holiday or PD day). The money raised allows the Parent Council to support the student community at Hawthorne in many ways. Please contact us if you would like to help out on a Friday; We’d love to have you join us!
How it works:
At the beginning of the school year, an order form is circulated to students. Please fill out a form for each child you have at Hawthorne taking part in Pizza Lunch (this is important for our record-keeping).
What you get:
The cost includes the local freshly made whole-wheat crust pizza (sourced from a Hawthorne parent’s restaurant), fresh local or organic fruits and veggies. The food is incredibly popular with the students.
Please note: We do our best to make sure that each child gets the pizza they have ordered each week. From time to time we may run out of the type of pizza ordered. We do our best to avoid this but please remember that this lunch is run by parent volunteers who once and awhile have to deal with an unexpected shortage!
Join us!
We really can’t do it without parent volunteers! Each week, a pizza coordinator prepares the fruits / veggies, and takes delivery of the pizza. 3-4 additional servers are required for about an hour (11:15-12:15). It’s a lot of fun and a great way to get to know the Hawthorne community! Contact your class rep to find out how to get involved.
